Oh, where to begin! I can’t say enough about how much I enjoyed this book! The story was layered, paced, and choreographed with such expert precision I practically pirouetted through the page right into the story world of Graham, Lucy, Mattie, and well…Texas. I was impressed by the perfect balance Lynn mastered here. It was lighthearted and fun without being flimsy. It was emotionally compelling and even heartbreaking without getting too heavy. The characters were vivid and flawed and endlessly entertaining, you can’t help but want to keep them for more than just a few hours on paper. Graham, so cute and admirable in his up-tight stodgy way, a perfect counterpoint to the vivacious and adorably quirky Lucy, who totally stole the show for me. Punchy dialogue and perfectly tuned chemistry between these two opposites and one heart-melting 5-year-old had me hooked from Chapter One. This author is one to watch. She writes with such ease the story practically pours over you and whisks you along in the current for an unforgettable ride. Can’t wait for more books from Jill Lynn. Hands down, a MUST READ!

Lucy is a hoot. Mattie is adorable. And Graham? *dreamy sigh* He’s a serious single dad who feels deeply and loves deeply and misses his little girl when they’re apart (I melt) and looks equally great in a tux or in jeans & a casual shirt. So – basically, keep that fainting couch nearby while reading Her Texas Family. And be prepared for people to ask you what’s up with that sappy grin on your face too. (Not that I know this from experience or anything… just hypothesizing. lol.)
